I have tried updating the driver, reinstalling, using focusrite control to check for firmware updates, disabling all other audio options, updating ASIO, changing the USB cable and tried alternate USB inputs, and changed the buffer size. I've had my focusrite scarlett 18i20 for about 3 years now and during this whole period i've had to reinstall my drivers multiple times because the sound keeps crackling, i have looked everywhere but haven't been able to find an answer so this is the last measure i take before i throw it in the trash because honestly i'm getting so sick of it. Yesterday I installed an internal PCI-E USB card, plugged my Scarlett 18i20 into it and what do you know? I just got a Focusrite Solo 4th gen yesterday and sometimes at complete random the audio starts crackling and becomes really distorted and robotic but unplugging and plugging fixes it. Ive had lots of Scarlett interfaces and they've had literally zero issues (1st, 2nd and 3rd gen 2i2s, 2nd gen 2i4 and a 3rd gen Solo).
